GW just needs to impress upon their staff that a smile and thank-you goes a long way with customers. All in all a great place at a great price. Also no frig, unless you wanted to spend $20.00 per night extra? I think this is the only hotel we've ever stayed at that didn't offer a refrigerator. We came back to the room twice to find the bed not made and no clean towels. The only downside to this trip was housekeeping. The bed was dreamy, the shower excellent, the jacuzzi tube a BIG plus. The room had no view, which really didn't matter to us we don't watch Vegas from the room. We didn't even get an 'enjoy your stay' (or even any eye contact-which was kind of weird.) As I mentioned the room was excellent-we stayed in the Gold Tower (our original reservations were for the Carson Tower.) No mention as to why were were moved. Usually the front desk personal are very friendly and helpful. while the room was excellent, the staff seemed distant. There was something a bit 'off' this trip. If you do not need to be on the strip, I would really. The pool, with the slope and tank were just great.

The pool is fabulous with a large shark tank with a slide tube that goes right through the middle. And don’t worry if you aren’t staying at this hotel, tickets for the pool and slide can be purchased at the hotel’s box office as well as behind the scenes tour tickets.We just got back yesterday (5-23-14) after a week at the GW. Golden Nugget Hotel: Swiming with the sharks - See 14,070. Best designed for older children the tour teaches you about sharks and often debunks many myths we may have about these creatures. They will take you where the public is not often invited, back to the world where they feed the sharks, monitor them and keep everything in working order. What is even more interesting than both of these though is the behind the scenes tour you can take with one of the expert marine biologists. The pool is often full of adults and kids who love to watch these majestic creatures slide through the water. You can actually swim alongside these creatures, thankfully behind a very thick sheet of glass. But all who want to try this are simply not brave enough and luckily there is another option. It’s called the Shark Chute and is three storey tall and whips riders right through the middle of the tank. Your children will be talking about this experience for years to come, as long as they are brave enough to slide. It sounds scary when you talk about sliding down a waterslide through a shark tank but in all actuality it is really safe and really fun.
